Still struggling to get a working version of Giants. Last one I tired, there were no textures in the fucking game, except for the gun!

Anyway, noticed that there's a Gundam version of Dynaty Warriors. This is gonna suck (I hate mechs). I enjoyed sending dozens of enemies flying everywhere at the same time (though the DW games barely had any differences in each intallments) but I get the feeling the Gundam version will lack the interesting feeling Dynasty Warriors gave me.....

I would say I'd like a Star Wars version but well, there's already Battlefront ( I'd soooo like to try Battlefront 3! *drools*). Well, maybe some kind of "Jedi Power Battle" using DW's engine would be neat. Imagine chopping foes into pieces with Jedi of Sith during the Clone Wars or choking enemies with Darth Vader during the Empire's reign.....damn, I'm drooling again....

Also, if you like my rantings, there's a link on the right of the page to follow my stuff. Just click and you'll read my stuff each time something comes out! Isn't that great?!

And don't hesitate to comment, I want to know what you readers have to say about this. ^^

My crappy comp...isn't so bad

Discovered my crappy comp isn't that crappy after all. I thought I could run only Quake, the first one but I could also run Quake 2! And I also tried running Giants: Citizen Kabuto (though only a demo) ans it worked!

So, I under-estimated my little machine. Nope, it won't run Battlefield 1942 or Quake 4 but I don't give a damn, there's still a few good games that will work!

So, if you know of games running on a 800 Mhz comp with 254 RAM and a 8Mb Graphic card, just post under here!

Please remove clean the crap you've dumped on these videogame franchises...

I finally understood why Dungeon Siege: In The Name of the King was such a torture.
While reading stuff on Wikipedia about Turok, I saw the name "Uwe Boll". Some mags said that the latest Turok game would've deserved a Uwe Boll movie adaptation (Meaning the game must've really sucked donkey balls). I clicked on the name, Uwe Boll and the page was really interesting. I learned that the bastard was the same one who adapted Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead, Postal and Bloodrayne. Now, I saw HotD, Dungeon Siege and a bit of Alone in the Dark and damn, the guy is such a crappy filmmaker and an immature bastard. He organized boxing matches against reviewers and other filmmakers to prove who is the best filmmaker. Hey, moron, WHAT DO BOXING AND MOVIE-MAKING HAVE TO DO WITH EACHOTHER??!!!

And the moron tried to shit on Warcraft and Metal Gear Solid and it seems he did the same with FarCry.....The good thing is that Blizzard refused to let Boll have the rights to a Warcraft movie (Whew!) and the rumors about the MGS movie were a misunderstanding :Two guys told him they were working for Konami and Uwe informed himself about this. Hideo Kojima, may he live for a long time to entertain us with his great stories, confirmed Konami never wanted Boll to adapt the game.

Also, Boll saw a petition and said if it reached 1,000,000 signatures, he would retire. Of course I signed it. But then, YOU readers should also sign it! By joining our signatures we can make a beautiful world free of Uwe Boll's constant franchise-destroying!

Right there- - - > http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?RRH53888&1

Killer Instinct and pinatas

Thought about something. While searching for anything relating to a possible Killer Instinct 3, I learned there was cards available to be scanned for Rare's "Viva Pinata", which would implement KI pinata in the game. I thought it was quite original and all but I saw screenshots of the damn pînatas....THEY DIDN'T FUCKING LOOK LIKE THE KILLER INSTINCT CHARACTERS!!!

They were just stupid animals that looked like the characters (yet again, how can a paper duck with goggles could have any ressemblance to Fulgore?). I wonder if anyone would really be interested in this? Tell me,would someone who just like reducing opponents to ashes in Killer Instinct be playing a cute little pinata game? It's like trying to bait a veteran Gears of War player into playing Animal Crossing.....

I admit that as much as I like violent games I also like playing a few Mario games (especially Mario Kart) but Mario can at least be appealling to older players like me, while Viva Pinata would only interest kids....

I'm telling you, Rare, you have no sens of public targeting! The cards could be interesting as collectors' item, but I doubt hardcore KI fans would get Viva Pinata just to scan'em...

That is all for now, just needed to vent this off. :)

Great memories: Killer Instinct

Aaah, a fine pearl true geeks will surely remember. Realeased in 1995, Killer Instinct was Rareware's response to Midway's Mortal Kombat and Capcom's Street Fighters. Like MK, KI had blood and Fatalities (Here, called "No Mercy") and like Street fighters, had three punch buttons and three kick buttons. Strong, Medium and Light. So, they basically merged MK's blood-splattering with Street Fighter's technical gameplay, which made for an interesting fighting experience.

I still remember my first days with this wonderful game: It was someting like ten or so years ago, it was Christmas. At the time, I had only a Sega Genesis (Or Megadrive, for European folks). One of my gifts was a F-Zero cartridge. "I don't have a Super Nintendo...", I said. The next gift was a great surprise: a new SNES console, which included Killer Instinct and its soundtrack, Killer Cuts.

I played that game so much. The graphics were terrific and, like every kids my age, I loved violent stuff. At the time, I didn't so much care about unlockables and everything, if the game was fun, I was happy enough with that. I had a friend who was always comming at my home with his brother and KI was the game we played the most. We were beasts in KI and we were always ready for hot matches, me with my favorite robotic fighter, Fulgore and the others usually picking Cinder or Glacius.

Speaking of fighters, it was the game that had the most original roster in my opinion. Only 10 fighters, including the final boss but they were all unique. You had a robot, a werewolf, a secret agent, a human torch, a dinosaur and so on, whereas in MK they simply took Scorpions, changed his color scheme, added a few moves and made another character with it. Damn, Ermac and Rain had to wait maybe 10 years before they could get their own frickin' character designs! Same with Street Fighter: Take Ryu, change the hair style and the color scheme and there! You got Akuma, Ken and Dan! Big lack of originality and what laziness.......

The graphics were great, too. Using the same procedures as DK Country, Rare made 3D models to be implemented in the game, giving a pseudo-3D feeling to it. Of course, there was no impressions of depths, it played like every 2D fighting games of the time, but it was enjoyable.

The thing that was really annoying with Killer Instinct was the lack of unlockable bonus. You could play as Eyedol with a cheat code but that was it. No new stuff to unlock, while in MK there was plenty of bonus to unlock with cheat codes.

It's pretty limited by today standards but I had such great memories of this game so that's why I think everyone should try it. Get an emulator or somethin' and start kicking ass!

And damn, I gotta find a copy of Killer Cuts..... :(

On another note, I've pretty much been in Quake mods and total conversions. I discovered some great ones, such as Airquake and Prydon's Gate (Diablo fans, this is for you! :). I got my hands on Quake 2 and I've been looking for some Total Conversions but I didn't find any interesting ones so, if you know of any TCs I should try, just throw me a link! :)

Game Blog advance: Introduction

Like every goddamn bloggers, I'll start with an intro.

First of all, this blog is not a news journal. You wanna know what games will be released when? Too bad, you're at the wrong place.

this is a blog for ranting. I'll just post what I think about stuff here. It focuses on videogames, D&D and role-playing. I'll probably post music stuff, too.

You probably have noticed that my personnale profile is not shown. I already said this was a rants blog, my personnal life is not your business nor will it interest you.

Well, I may seem like a frickin' untalkable person but don't let what I've written fool you. ^^
I don't mind reading a few comments about the stuff I post, as long as it's not insults, ads or any other crap like this. If you post comments here, it means you're a geek with a good geekitude interested in reading other geeks' points of view.

It could happen that I badmouth a game you really like. then stop reading. Yeah, there's lots of games I hate and will gladly trash-talk about'em but I can respect others' gaming tastes and will not continuously harass people who like games that I hate.

Now that all this is cleared, you can start reading my next post. :P
